Melbourne Marathon 2017: 30,000 people run under sunny skies


MORE than 30,000 pounded the pavement in good sunshine this morning for the 40th Melbourne Marathon.

Runners younger and previous took half in a variety of occasions from the total 42km marathon to a 3km stroll.

All occasions completed with a lap of the hallowed MCG turf.

Each winners stroll away with a useful $20,000 money prize.

Makda Haji took out the ladies’s half marathon in a time of 1.10.39, beating Jessica Trengrove who got here in second.

Brett Robinson was topped the winner of the lads’s half marathon, ending with a time of 1.04.01.

Over 40,000 spectators cheered on contributors as they ran all through Melbourne and greater than $1 million was raised for charities.
